Early Christmas For Southmayd’s
My family here in Freer, TX celebrated an early Christmas today because my daughter, Angel, and grandchildren, Tommy and Anna, are going to San Antonio, TX to spend the Christmas holidays with their other grandmas and the children’s father who is in the hospital. Walter and I will have the house to ourselves for almost 2 weeks…Angel’s Christmas gift to us for Christmas…peace and quiet.
Walter, my hubby, made our Christmas dinner. We had Herbed Baked Chicken with Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole with fresh green beans, Sweet Potatoes with Marshmallows, Cranberry Sauce, and wonderful Biscuits. We had a small slice of Spiced Apple and Raisin (Mincemeat) Pie with a little Cream Whip on top. Hubby is a wonderful cook.
For Christmas, my honey asked me what I wanted for my present with the stipulation that it couldn’t be anything computer or bead related. So I thought about it and told him that I wanted a round-trip ticket to Springfield, IL so I could see my Dad whom I haven’t seen for a couple of years. Early January 5, 2011, Walter will drive me 130 miles to San Antonio, TX to catch the 7 a.m. train. My father will pick me up in Springfield at the train station the next morning to spend 2 weeks with him. On January 21, my Dad will drop me off in the evening after we spend the day together for me to come back to San Antonio. My hubby will pick me up from the train station late January 22 and we will head to Sugarland, TX to visit with our son the next morning. After the visit we will head home so hubby can get to bed early so he can go to work early the next morning. Anyway, that is the plan as of right now.
I bought my honey a Miter Saw, plane, and clamp bars. He wants to start a carpentry business and these will be added to what I have already bought for him.
Tommy and Anna only got our Christmas gifts today but enjoyed what they received.

Your family is so cute, and I wish my grandma blogged!
