My Birthday Weekend
A week before my birthday, my hubby took me to Sam’s Club and bought me a beautiful Kodak Easy Share Z950. He really surprised me because usually, he will have me go get my own gift or tell him what to get for me. This year, he came up with what to get me on his own. I was so proud of him and really love the camera. Now I have to get to know my new camera. Come to think of it, this picture came from my new camera.
On my birthday weekend, we went up to celebrate my 60th birthday and my MIL’s 75th birthday with my husband’s family in Temple, TX. We had so much fun on Saturday that we didn’t leave at 6 p.m. as we planned. We spent the evening talking most of the night and then starting all over again when we got up.
My BIL, Rusty, made a wonderful meal for us Saturday. We had King Ranch Casserole, Funeral Salad, Macaroni and Cheese, and Green Beans. There was also so many loaves of fresh bread for everyone. Then on Sunday, he made us Minca’s Babies (like a pancake baked in the oven…looks like quiche) with syrup. Everyone left there stuffed.
We finally ended up leaving at about 2:30 p.m. We really didn’t want to leave but had to get the grandchildren down to San Antonio, TX to visit their father. Oh well, all good things must end.
But, the fun wasn’t over. My hubby took me to a nice restaurant where we had a lovely meal together before heading back to Freer. We had a very relaxing, enjoyable drive down from San Antonio. It is so good to be alone together every once in a while.

Sounds like you had a great time….found this blog by accident and glad I did!……blessings
We forgot to get a picture of everyone that was there!! We had a wonderful time!! Next year we will even have more fun!! We almost killed the little ducks. We were so tired we forgot all about them. But have revived them and they are quacking, or cheeping, away now. Mom is going out with us tomorrow and I think we may actually survive now. Sometimes I think she’s younger than me too!! Love you a lot. So glad you guys made it, and loved having you over night.
Sounds like a great time for all. Glad you got the new camera too.

Oh, by the way, I am the one on the left. The younger looking one is my MIL.
