My Spiral Beadwork
This is a re-publishing of a blog post from back in 7/4/2008. The original one got lost when I reloaded my blog and so I am reposting it.
Ok, having done a treasury on Spirals, I thought I would do a post showing off some of the beautiful spirals that I have created.
I have a 3 piece set (really 4 pc but ring not spiral) I am working on now for a Swap in Green and Gold and a spiral necklace for another swap. I will show those off after the recipients get them.
This first set is my own creation. I bid on a set of 5 beads from Beadaide but didn’t have any idea what I was going to do with them. By the time I won the auction, I already knew what creation they were going to be in. I envisioned a necklace, earrings and bracelet set. The wonderful thing is that they came out as beautiful as I envisioned them. Instead of going up for sale though, I gave them to one of my best friends as a wedding gift. This set was created using Matsuno transparent pink and transparent light blue seed beads and my newly acquired focal beads. I called this my Beadaide Spiral set.
UPDATE 3/2011: My friend’s home burnt down while her and her husband were gone. She thought all was lost. The man who was removing all the debris from the house burning down came over with a bag and asked her if that was hers. Inside this bag was the necklace and bracelet. The earrings were never found. These items and a tortilla maker that belonged to her father were the only items to survive that fire.
Next, I want to show you the beautiful 3 strand spiral bracelet that I created for a swap for my Beading Fanatics Group (no longer in existence). We used a triple strand spiral bracelet from Fire Mountain Gems to make ours. The lucky recipient of this lovely bracelet was Bobbye. I tried to find Wine colors to make it in which was her first color choice. But, could not find any. I found some really cool focal beads to use with some green seedbeads I found. That fell through as the focals ended up not matching the seed beads after all when I got them out of the bottle (besides the seed beads were really lousy….wouldn’t make something for enemy with them). Then she said she liked soft colors. I had to ask her what she meant by soft colors and she said pastels. Now, that I could do. I just happened to have pastel seed beads.
Want some patriotic colors? The first picture I sold and the other 3 were for swaps.
The last two that I have created for swaps are some of my favorites.
Ok, now what do you think about my pretties. I so loved making these spirals.
