New Year’s Day

Well, I may have jumped the gun about 2010 being the best year yet.

Hopefully today is not indicative of what is to come.  My husband is out of work with the flu…no work, no income.  A horrible grating sound coming from the washing machine woke me up this morning (hopefully easily fixed).  Then while I was working on answering my emails, the dryer caught fire.  Thank God my husband went to get a pillow and caught it before our house caught fire.  Had to run to the pharmacy 35 miles away because they forgot to give me one of hubby’s medicines yesterday…..the most important one….his antibiotic.

The good news is that we are all safe and sound and together.  We have a roof over our heads, electricity to keep us warm, and food to eat.  That is a lot more than some others have.

Say a prayer for us that this year turns around.  We could use an upward turn in our lives.

  7. As you mentioned, you still had a bit of luck even in the middle of all of that mess (found the fire before any major damage), so try to look on the bright side. :-) Hugs.

Oh My Gosh! Your washing machine and my microwave. Blew out while we were standing at the kitchen sink. Didn`t catch on fire though-pulled the plug right away. We`re both fortunate. Keep the faith my friend-things will be better w/the morrow…….

  12. Oh Marilyn, send you a ton of prayers and hugs!
