The Lord’s Beautiful Canvas

On the way to San Antonio, TX, we took Hwy 16 to Jourdanton and skipped on over to Pleasanton and took Hwy 281 up to San Antonio.  Then on the way back, we came all the way down Hwy 16 to Freer.   You should have seen the beautiful yellow, white, pink, fuchsia, purple (both light and dark), blue, green, etc.  Not only were the flowers, such as bluebonnets galore and indian paint brushes,  and weeds blooming, but the trees as well.  It hasn’t looked this lovely for a few years.  I am so sad that I wasn’t able to get some pictures to show you….but the camera is my daughter’s and she had it with her.  Not only were these flowers and weeds blooming along the highway but there were fields of them.  They brightened my day and lifted my soul.  Ponds that I didn’t even know existed were full of water thanks to the rain that Texas has been receiving.

The Lord really did let his paint brush fly over the countryside.  If you live in Texas, you really should drive down some of the highways and byways for an eyeful of beauty.

Here are some pictures to give you an idea of what I saw.  I found these on the internet.  They really don’t do justice to the lovely scenes that I saw today. image  imageimage

I remember those beautiful blue bonnets from when I lived in Texas. Breathtaking. And the wild flowers along the highway were for sure the work of the heavenly artist! Thanks for the blog and pics to remind us.
