Time for Me to Catch Up

Boy, I didn’t realize that it had been a month since I had written in my blog.  How time flies when you are busy.  I have a lot of catching up to do both in my personal life and my beading world.Let me see now the last time I posted to my blog was the middle of September.  At that time, it was the last day of voting on last month’s EBW challenge and I had an entry in that.

Now, it is time to vote for the October challenge, Animal Instincts.  I do not have an entry in this challenge due to so much going on in my personal life.  I did design 2 possible entries but didn’t have the beads and didn’t have time to get them.  Oh well, everyone will see them somewhere down the line.  The members of the EBW team that did get the entries in did a wonderful job.  Please go by the EBW team blog, look at all of the beautiful entries by clicking on the links below the mosaic with mini pictures of all the entries, and then vote on your favorite.  We appreciate everyone that comes by and votes.  Tell your friends to come by and vote to.  The more, the merrier.

As most of you know, the doctors found a mass on my husband’s left kidney while doing an MRI for his back.  He went in for surgery on September 25th.  He was in surgery for 2 1/2 hours but they got all of the cancer cut away from the kidney.  They were able to save about 2/3 of the kidney which is good.  The mass was found to be cancerous so I am so happy that it was found while it was still small enough to be gotten rid of.  Walter is back to work now which is good.  He was getting bored staying home all the time.  He actually went fishing last Sunday with my grandson and his brother (with the Urologist’s permission).  He is still a little sore from Sunday but getting better every day.  Once he is released by the Urologist to go back to work, he will have to be released by the doctor checking out his back.  But, good news is that the doctor we went to see on our own said everything should heal on its own.

While Walter was in the hospital, I worked on some Beaded Breast Cancer Quilt squares.  Our EBW team is going to be sending in some squares to have one created just by us.  About 25 of our team members volunteered to make these square.  I have made 5 squares designed by Felinda.  All I have to do is put them on pellon and mail them out.  I have others designed that I will create before the March deadline so that I can send them in also.
